Researchers have linked two newfangled gene with an increased risk of fleshiness in baby , a new study allege .

Previous studies have identifiedgenes associated with obesity in adults , and in children with extreme corpulency due to an rudimentary condition , but the new written report is the first to link genes with puerility obesity in the general universe .

Grant and colleague analyse genetical information collected during 14 study conducted in the United States , Canada , Europe and Australia .

They first scanned the genomes of 5,530 rotund kid , and 8,300 youngster who were not obese . They found eight newfangled genetic marker associated with childhood obesity . To validate their findings , the researchers studied these marker in an extra 2,000 rotund and 4,000 nonobese children , and found two markers were linked with childhood corpulency .

A gene call OLFM4 on chromosome 13 , and one call HOXB5 on chromosome 17 were the closest genes to the marker . extra enquiry is needed to confirm these gene are , in fact , the ones that play a function in nipper obesity , and that the link is not due to other nearby genes , the researchers said .
