If you ’re a pop culture collector , there ’s no dearth of art from Lucasfilm ’s two biggest properties : Star Wars and Indiana Jones . But now two of the full-grown companies in the game , Mondo and Acme Archives , are teaming up to bring you even more , and these slice look fantastic .
The first piece is out this hebdomad . It ’s call “ Red-5″ by Mike Mitchell , an addition to hisPortraitseries .
This piece , a 12 x 16 in giclee , will be uncommitted in a time edition for 72 hours start on Thursday , March 17,at this liaison .
If you ’re diffident why this is so exciting , it ’s pretty unsubdivided — Mondo ’s artists are some of the good and most collectable in the pop civilisation community . They include Olly Moss , Tyler Stout , Martin Ansin , Ken Taylor , Aaron Horkey and more . Some of those guys have done Star Wars pieces before , but even less of them have done Indiana Jones , so this is a heck of an opportunity for them and for us . Plus , you may have heard something about a new Star Wars flick that came out recently ? Would n’t it be awful for Moss and Stout , artist who’vealready donetheir ownlegendary postersfor the Star Wars Trilogy , to do The Force Awakens ? I get weak at the knee at the thought .
Then there ’s Acme , who consistently put out some of the most beautiful , underrated art on the internet . For model , check out these two piece by Brian Rood that just went on sale ( these are not in conjugation with Mondo , but are a great representation of Acme ’s piece of work ):
