Chicagojust broke its own record.

After 27 years on stage — and with new leadAriana Madix— the Broadway show just earned its highest-grossing non-holiday performance week during the Jan. 29- Feb. 4, 2024 week, reportsBroadway World.

Throughout the previous week and the start of Madix’s two-month run, the show earned $939,177.40, breaking its previous record of $926,363.35. The old record was set during the week of March 20-26, 2023.

TheVanderpump Rulesstar made her Broadway debut on Jan. 29 and stars as the musical’s lead, Roxie Hart. Her eight-week limited engagement concludes on March 24.

The production also currently stars Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Max von Essen as Billy Flynn, Lili Thomas as Matron “Mama” Morton, Red Concepción as Amos Hart and J. London as Mary Sunshine.

In early December,Madix shared onLive with Kelly and Markthat she was joining the production.

“It’s just the biggest dream come true,” she said. “I cannot believe this is real life. I’m going to cry.”

Madix studied musical theatre at Flagler College and moved to New York City after graduation with hopes of landing a spot on a Broadway stage.

The ongoing production ofChicagois Broadway’s longest-running American musical in history and was the basis for a 2002 film. TheAcademy Award-winning movie musical starredRenée ZellwegerandCatherine Zeta-Jones, and scored wins for Best Picture and Best Supporting Actress for Zeta-Jones, 54, who played Velma.

Madix’s appearance follows an impressive line of Bravo stars who have taken their turns in the show. Others includeRHOBHstarsErika GirardiandLisa Rinna, as well asReal Housewives of AtlantastarsKandi BurrusandNeNe Leakes.
