assault the Block is a strong contender for one of our favorite flick of the year , and we wish more people had check it . Will a U.S. remaking assist , or just break what was great about the original ? We ca n’t tell for sure — but director Joe Cornish tell IFC News an Americanized remake is being discussed . Also being talked about : a television serial . ( Although , as a friend of mine who put to work with kids in juvenile hallway pointed out a while back , if you made Attack the Block in the U.S. , all of the kids would have guns . )

He has this image of a bigger alien fire on London , as if the attack we saw in ‘ round the Block ’ was just the [ first ] wave and there ’s another undulation of bigger creatures . And he described to me this persona of Moses leading a whole U. S. Army of hood kids across the Thames , next to the planetary house of Parliament … He had an range of a function of Moses on a police sawbuck . You have sex the police in London who have those sawhorse they use in riots … somehow Moses has experience onto one of those horses . So he ’s on a horse leading this United States Army of South London kids across the river to take on this bigger undulation of extraterrestrial .
