If you take in theutter madnessthat has been Riverdale , you know time of year six ended in a place where … well , everyone on the show seemed both glad and safe . That ’s thanks toCheryl Blossom ’s necromancy and a meteora dark wizard conjured to hit Riverdale , which — as one would anticipate — sent everyone into a new universe where they ’re innocent stripling in an idealized 1950s . But as thisseventh - seasontrailer reveals , even ‘ L Riverdale ca n’t stay innocent for long .
One more matter to remember : Jughead is the only one who recall Archie , Betty , Veronica , and their pal are from the future , a defeat that led to the perfectly complete image above . But without further ado :

See ? Sure , it seems all the bushed part have been resurrected , all relationship have been reset , and everyone ’s ( other than poor Kevin Keller ) enjoy their lives . ( My favorite part is how everyone ’s dressed as their classical Archie amusing counterpart , force poor Cole Sprouse to wear Jughead ’s iconic andhopelessly anachronistic whoopee cap . ) But then someone ’s choke to cut up apart Archie , Ethel ’s covered in blood , Betty ’s frothing at the mouth , and yep , Cheryl ’s still some sort of sorceress .
Here ’s the wild affair : Even though this prevue features this stuff , it honestly looks comparatively tame compared to previous time of year . After all , the show ’s more than dabbled with sequential killer and thaumaturgy before , but it ’s also had multiple cult , an show by the literal demon , aliens , bear blast , nun mass suicide , and more .
But I ’m not at all worried that the show is going to hit the brakes on the insanity now . We ’ll just have to wait and see when Riverdale ’s seventh and final season premieres on the CW March 29 .
