The mom of seven, 41, revealed on the March 2 episode of TLC’sThe Baldwinsthat she had a special gift planned for the couple’s anniversary, which fell two days before the trial for the 2021 accidental shooting death ofcinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Ahead of the anniversary, Hilaria told her oldest daughterCarmen Gabriela, 11, that she was giving Alec, 66, a necklace of St. Michael, in addition to a silk scarf featuring the religious figure.
“I’m hoping that he’ll wear it and it says we’re here to protect you, stand with you, love you. You are not alone,” she told her daughter of the necklace, adding in Spanish, “We are a good team. May God be with you today and always.”

As her husband prepared to stand trial, Hilaria admitted, “In my very bad moments, I will let my mind start to wander and spiral. I think about what’s the worst case scenario. I believe that the worst case scenario is, if they can convince people to find him guilty, they will take him away right there.”
With only two days left until the trial, she presented the30 Rockalum with the anniversary gifts. She explained that St. Michael is the “saint of protection,” to which Alec joked, “Let’s get his cell phone number.”
However, the necklace didn’t quite work out as planned when Alec realized it wasn’t “even close” to fitting around his neck.

Despite the hiccup, she explained, “I think one of the most important things when we’re facing challenges is to know there’s something bigger than us — regardless of what you believe. Because faith will guide us out of this dark period.”
As for Alec, he gifted Hilaria a set of pearl earrings and a card, in which he promised they can “rebuild” once the trial was behind them. He then joked, “If it doesn’t go well, we have to sell those earrings right away.”
Alec was tried in New Mexico for involuntary manslaughter following the deadly accidental shooting on the set of the western movieRustin 2021. The star — who faced up to 18 months in prison — was holding a prop gun when it discharged, killing Hutchins andinjuring writer-director Joel Souza(who recovered from his injuries).
