Grammy win American violinist Hilary Hahn and German modernist composer Hauschka recently get together to produceSilfra — an album combine the violinist ’s virtuoso gift and the composer ’s “ fain pianissimo . ” That is , a forte-piano that has been modified to strike various planted object — feeding bottle caps , bell , and other miscellanea — rather than the intended chords . “ I really wanted to capture the gumptious and ad-lib feeling of the birdsong itself , and honor the collaboration between Hilary Hahn and Hauschka , ” Morris toldIFC Fix . “ When Hauschka performs he consider different placeable object and places them into his piano to alter the sound .
