Thanksgivingis going to be tech-free in the Consuelos household.
On Wednesday’s episode ofLive with Kelly and Mark,Kelly Riparevealed that she is not going to tolerate any phones at the table for this year’s holiday as she said she’s “taking out the phone basket.”
“You know what I’m doing? I’m taking out the basket. I didn’t want to do it but I’m going to be forced to do it. I’ve got a phone basket,” she told her husband,Mark Consuelous, as they discussed their opposition to people using their phones while at a meal.
Consuelos, 52, wasn’t opposed to the idea as he and Ripa, 53, talked abouttheir three kids—Michael, 26,Lola, 22 andJoaquin, 20 — coming home for the holiday.
Ripa shot down the idea of a box that locks with the phones inside, though. “I don’t want to create anxiety at the table," she said. “I want them to know that they’re there and that they’re safe. It’s just for this one meal.”
Consuelos countered that his approach will be to grill his kids on their personal lives if they want to earn their phone privileges back.
“Or it could be like, ‘You want your phone back? How are your grades? What are you doing after college? What are your plans?’” he joked.
Ripa then asked her husband not to get too into the “tough questions” that he tends to ask.
“Don’t make it uncomfortable. Because Mark will lean into the discomfort of everyone else. He leans right into it, he doesn’t care.”

The couple have mostly been empty nesters since 2021 whentheir youngest son, Joaquin, headed off to collegeat the University of Michigan. Lola, whograduated from New York University in May, has lived at home on-and-off during her college years, while their oldest, Michael, is a budding actor who has recently beenworking on several hit Bravo shows, including theReal Housewivesfranchise, alongsideAndy Cohen.
Michael previously worked on aRHONJseason, Cohen said, and was working on the new season of theRHONYover the summer.
Consuelos said his son is “very diplomatic” when it comes to the project he’s working on and tries not to pick favorites.

Fresh out of NYU, the couple’s only daughter,Lola, has begun pursuing a music careerand dropped her second single, “Divine Timing,” in July.
Speaking to PEOPLE over the summer, she said that there is “so much more music” to come.
“I’m trying not to rush the process because I have a tendency to try to release things the day that I make them, which I have to stop doing,” Lola shared. “I just have to sit back and let it marinate for a little. But there’s a lot more coming from Lola Consuelos, so keep your ears open and your eyes out.”

The couple’s youngest, Joaquin, keeps himself busy in college on the wrestling team at the University of Michigan.
Consuelos and Ripa frequently visit the Ann Arbor campus to support Joaquin and the team, andcelebratedtheir success in the 2022 season on Instagram. The team was the runner-up for the NCAA league during Joaquin’s first year as an athlete.
