Two years beforeFelicity Huffmanfaced fraud charges for allegedly participating in a college cheating scheme, her husbandWilliam H. Macygushed about her parenting skills.

In a 2017 interview withPEOPLE Now,the 69-year-old actor raved about Huffman saying, “Felicity is a great mom,” and revealing how he and the actress tried to keep their two daughters, 18-year-old Sofia and 16-year-old Georgia, “away from the business as much as we could.”

Macy shared how proud he was of his daughters, describing them as “They’re really cool young women and really fun to be around and smart as whips.”

“They’re above average,” he added.

TheDesperate Housewivesactress was released on a $250,000 bond, according to The Associated Press.

Federal court records unsealed Tuesday in Boston name 50 people — including Huffman andFuller HouseactressLori Loughlin— who have been indicted as part of the alleged nationwide scheme, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts.

Huffman allegedly gave $15,000 “to participate in the college entrance exam cheating scheme on behalf of her oldest daughter,” the indictment in the case states.

Federal agents secretly recorded telephone calls with Huffman and a cooperating witness, which allegedly showed Huffman agreeing to pay the sum of money in order to help Sofia get a higher SAT score, according to the indictment.

Others allegedly involved in the scam include Gamal Abdelaziz, a senior executive of a resort and casino operator; Douglas Hodge, a former CEO of Pimco; Agustin Huneeus, owner of a vineyard; and William E. McGlashan Jr., a senior executive at TPG — one of the world’s biggest private equity firms, among others.
